Viewing Your Record

By selecting this option from the RioCat Main
Menu, you can find out what you have checked out
and when it is due (or whether its overdue) by
choosing "Display CHECKED OUT items". You can
also check to see if you have any fines pending
by choosing "Display FINES" or even if the books
you ordered from OhioLINK have been shipped
and/or received at Davis Library for pick up by
choosing "Display HELD items".
When you choose "View your Circ Record" from
the RioCat Main Menu, RioCat will ask:
1. For your name, first and then last.
Example: Joe College
2. Then your student ID number (e.g., 123456).
3. Your library PIN is set up
initially to consist of the last four digits of
your Social Security Number. To enhance the security of
your record, it is strongly recommended that you
change your PIN at your earliest convenience.
Simply select "View your Circualtion Record from
RioCat's main menu and then "Modify your PIN" or
click
HERE to get to the page directly.
Your PIN can be any word and/or numbers (up to
32 characters), it's completely up to you.
Whatever you decide, though, your PIN needs to
be something you will be able to easily remember
since you will be prompted for it each and every
time you want to access your circulation
record).
NOTE: Your Davis Library PIN is also
required when you want to use OhioLINK databases
from off-campus). When trying to access OhioLINK
research databases from your home using your
local Internet Service Provider (ISP), for
example, you will need to "Authenticate" that
you are a valid Rio Grande student. You will be
prompted for your name, student ID number (e.g.
S123456), AND your PIN. Without your PIN, the
authentication process will fail and you will
not be allowed access to the databases at that
time.
4. After you type it in (no characters will
show on the screen as you type) and press ENTER,
RioCat will ask you to retype your PIN to
confirm it is correct. Then press ENTER.
5. Follow the menu at the bottom of the
screen to view your record and/or to print. When
you're through viewing, press "Q" to quit back
to the RioCat Main Menu.
Your PIN will prevent anyone else from
viewing your record. Each time you view your
record after the first time, you will be asked
for your PIN. Don't forget it!
