The mission of the School of Sciences is to provide: 1) courses for specific programs of study, 2) courses to fulfill General Education requirements, and 3) service courses for other programs. In carrying out its mission, the School of Sciences offers programs in biology, chemistry, environmental science, mathematics, physics, and wildlife & fish conservation and management leading to degrees at the associate and baccalaureate level. Degree programs in mathematics and the sciences are also available for students pursuing careers in middle childhood and adolescent to young adult education.
Additionally, the School services the General Education Program of the University by providing courses in the mathematics and natural science components of the program. Courses for pre-professional study in medicine, veterinary medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, chiropractic, and engineering are available. An education in mathematics and science can lead to a wide range of challenging professional occupations in such areas as education, government, and industry.
