Visit us at the Madog Center tent during the annual Bob Evans Farm Festival October 11-13, 2013. We will be at the tent giving information about Welsh Heritage Days from 9-5 PM each day of the festival.
The Madog Center for Welsh Studies, along with the Fine Arts, English and Music departments at the University of Rio Grande, is working with the Bob Evans Farm, Inc. to plan Welsh Heritage Days on May 16, 17, & 18, 2014 at the Bob Evans Farms.
The festival is modeled after the original Welsh Heritage Days from the 1970's and will celebrate Welsh culture and heritage and focus on the performing arts, with competitions centered on an Eisteddfod theme. It will also honor the Welsh roots of company founder, the late Bob Evans.
Our aim is to create the atmosphere of a Welsh Eisteddfod maes, or field, with multiple tents for performances, exhibitions, demonstrations, crafters, food and activities. A Saturday evening concert, a Gymanfa service on Sunday morning, and a closing concert showcasing winning choirs and vocalists are all planned.
We are currently seeking craft vendors and more information on the Eisteddfod competitions will be forthcoming.
