Grande Community College. As a participating
member of OhioLINK, use privileges are also
extended to any valid student or faculty member
of any other participating OhioLINK institution.
In addition, Davis Library allows the general
public who reside in the four county Rio Grande
Community College district (i.e., Gallia,
Jackson, Meigs, and Vinton) to use the library's
collection and many of its services, provided
they have registered with the Library and have a
valid Davis Library identification card. There
is no charge for community users to register.
Children are allowed to register as a library
community patron with the advice and consent of
their parent or guardian. Children are not

General::
Reserves::
Unbound Periodicals: Unbound
periodicals are shelved behind the Circulation
Desk on the main floor adjacent to the reserve
materials. Periodicals, bound or unbound, do not
circulate outside the library. Availability of
periodicals is limited to a first-come,
first-served basis and cannot be held for a
student. The Library reserves the right to
recall any unbound periodical. After the first
two hours, there is a 25 cent per hour, per
issue fine for overdue unbound periodicals.
There is a maximum $5 fine per item on overdue
hourly reserve materials. A $10 replacement
charge will be assessed for any lost or
mutilated periodical issue as well as a $5
processing charge per issue. In the case of
mutilated issues, additional fines may be
assessed by the Office of Public Services. A
refund of the lost materials charge for an
unbound periodical issue will be made to the
student if materials are found and returned in
good condition within one year of the due date
and will include the replacement charge minus
the processing charge. Students receiving
photocopied periodical articles through
interlibrary loan are required to pay any
charges for those articles, regardless of when
those materials are received in Davis Library.
Halts: Students may expect to have
library privileges (including OhioLINK
borrowing) temporarily suspended, and requests
for diplomas, transcripts, and registration
materials interrupted as a result of seriously
delinquent library transactions. Such action may
be taken for overdue materials, unpaid fines,
unpaid interlibrary loan, and/or failure to pay
for lost or mutilated materials. A complete
listing of current "Halt" categories is
available through the Records Office. The
procedure for removing a library "Halt" is to
contact the Library as soon as possible and
resolve the problem transaction. For questions
relating to Circulation, please contact
Deb Thompson,
Circulation Associate.
