Resources

Campus technology includes many a diverse array of resources for the delivery of networked services for instruction, business and entertainment.

Network & Attached Devices:
Computers, laptops, tablets & smartphones...
Game consoles, TVs, digital video recorders, signage, card swipes, printers & copiers...

Networked Services:
Typically, network delivered services are local on campus or distributed from various locations across the Internet from either single or multiple data centers (AKA the "Cloud"). Individuals, offices and businesses on campus all access networked resources from a wide variety of locations and from multiple service & platform vendors. To provision both the network communications and the services which traverse those media, several campus offices are involved.

Three main offices provide networked instructional and information services to the Rio Grande campus.
  • Campus Computing & Networking
Networking & security, data and voice services, identity management & authentication (RioNET accounts), e-mail, desktop and lab computing, virtual server hosting, file storage...
  • Instructional Design & Media Services
Instructional technology, digital projection, audio & video recording, broadcast and streaming, online learning resources...
  • Management Information Systems
Business systems, student information systems, institutional reporting & research...

It helps to have user guides and reference materials to assist users in the use of campus technology. CC&N will host tutorials for whatever needs documenting & explaining. Let us know if you have specific requests for new materials.
