Everyone juggles multiple user accounts today.
Keeping passwords updated is a tough and confusing task.

Even advanced users can forget a password or require assistance to reset a password or unlock a frozen account.  Providing a secure Identity Management System for user authentication and access control is a most serious endeavor which we take seriously. Campus Computing & Networking is a HELP DESK where providing friendly assistance to our users is a most valued service.

Password Resets

Various campus systems use the URG Active Directory for primary log-in or authenticates off the campus AD Domain. Follow these steps to reset or change your password.

If you know your password and want to change it:

  1. Log into any RioNET connected computer on main campus or at the Meigs Center.
    Hit CTRL+ALT+DEL at the same time and release the keys...
    Choose "Change Password" and follow the steps.
  2. Use the online Password Portal remotely.
    While connected to the Internet, open a web browser to https://password.rio.edu.
    Enter your RioNET username line 1, your old password on line 2 and your new password on both lines 3 & 4. Click OK to continue. A success message or error message will confirm your reset attempt.
  3. Contact the Help Desk by phone or in person. CC&N Help Desk staff will ask the user to validate their identity, so be prepared to answer a few simple questions...
