Orientation
Welcome to Rio!
We’re excited to have you join the “Rio Family,” and we know your years here will be some of the best of your life. Along the way you’ll face new challenges, and we’re here to help make your Rio Grande experience the best it can be! We look forward to seeing you at our orientation program. Orientation is mandatory for all new students including transfer students, and there are several dates of which to choose. Please pick the date that works best for you, and register online at www.rio.edu/orientation or call Admissions at 1.800.282.7201, ext. 7208.
What is Orientation?
This mandatory orientation prepares you for a successful tenure at the University of Rio Grande and Rio Grande Community College. By attending orientation, you will learn about the services offered at Rio Grande, meet current students and other new students, interact with academic advisors and register for classes.
Before Orientation
For those students who do not have an ACT/SAT test score on file, the COMPASS placement test must be taken. Please contact the New Student Advising Office 1-800-282-7201 ext. 7004 to determine if placement testing is needed. Placement testing can be administered prior to your selected orientation date. Please call the number above to arrange your test.
